Peep This: "When I Came Home"

I was cruising around Hulu the other day, and I happened upon this documentary called "When I Came Home". The movie focuses on a New York City vet named Herold Noel who comes home from the Iraq War with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, no way to support his family, and no place to live.
He lives in his car, and rides around with his young son during the day trying to get help, but all the military offers him is some pills and red tape. The documentary follows his fight for assistance, but it also brings attention to a larger issue: namely, the thousands of homeless vets sleeping on our streets. According to a new study, there are an estimated 131,000 homeless veterans, and alarmingly, 45 percent of those are Black, like the protagonist of this film.
President Obama along with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, has pledged to end homelessness amongst veterans, but we need to make sure this issue doesn't go on the backburner. Because with more vets coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq everyday, the problem will only get worse without a plan to stop it.
